SRG/SCG Applications Interface Unit (AIU) MK2

The Application Interface Unit (AIU) performs all the audio, PEI and digital I/O access functions of the console. With no display or keypad, it is a light, compact unit requiring minimal installation space.

The AIU can be used when audio and data input/output are required without needing a console, or if a console is fitted but more than two audio accessories are required.

Please note: for data only, no AIU or console is required.

An optional kit is available separately, containing four screws with over-sized heads to enable hand tightening when the AIU is installed in an area with restricted access.

Handset

  • Audio

The handset is a full-duplex accessory that allows calls to be taken in private without using the loudspeaker. An integrated PTT button means the handset can also be used for half-duplex calls. It is supplied with a magnetic cradle for off-hook detection and to keep the handset held firmly in position. The handset connects to the rear of the console or AIU using a 10-way Hirose connector. The VAC (Vehicle Accessory Connector) variant connects to the front of the Sepura Colour Console.

Remote-Short-Stalk Mic

SCG Fist Microphone

The fist microphone connects to the rear of the console or AIU using a 10-way Hirose connector. It is a half-duplex accessory and must be used with a loudspeaker. A button located on the top of the microphone can be programmed for various functions (i.e. clear down, last number redial etc). Part no. 300-00062

Serial Data/Programming Cable

The Serial Data/Programming Cable is used for connecting the radio to a PC (serial host) for configuration or PEI control. The cable connects to the 15-pin D-type Data connector on the AIU, interface box or directly into either of the transceiver interface ports. Please note: this cable can be used for packet data (not programming) for SCG22. Part no. 300-00065

The USB Data/Programming Cable is used for connecting the radio to a PC (USB host) for configuration or PEI control. The cable connects to the 15-pin D-type Data connector on the AIU, interface box or directly into either of the transceiver interface ports. Part no. 300-00971

SRG/SCG Hands-Free Kit (AIU)

This kit provides a remote microphone and a remote PTT button with a programmable soft key. The microphone and switch leads are terminated with 3.5mm jack, which connect to the plugs on the side of the AIU. Please note: this kit is suitable for use with the AIU and the Virtual Console interface cable. Part no. 300-00085

SRG/SCG Hands-Free Kit (Console)

This kit provides a remote microphone and a remote PTT button with a programmable soft key, and connects to the rear of the console or AIU using a 10-way Hirose connector. The microphone lead is supplied crimped but un-terminated to allow routing of the wires. A plug in link is supplied if the hands-free is installed alone i.e. no handset or fist microphone. Please note: this kit is suitable for use with SCC3, HBC3 and AIU consoles. It can only be used with an AIU if no other audio accessory is required. Part no. 300-00079

SRG/SCG Remote Console Cable

  • Installation

The remote console cable is used to connect the Console, AIU or HBC to either of the 'HD 15 way D-Type' interface connectors at the rear of the transceiver. The cable carries console comms, PEI comms, console power, and audio in and out. Please note: Different length cables provide a flexible installation solution so that the console can either be installed locally or remotely from the transceiver. The cable is not included with the transceiver or console (unless otherwise stated). This item should be ordered separately.
