Sepura Apprenticeships

At Sepura, the work we do helps people communicate when it matters most and as an apprentice, you’ll be part of that mission from day one.

Do you want a career where your work helps save lives?

From your first day as an apprentice at Sepura, you’ll be treated as part of the team. With our support, you’ll learn on the job, gain real experience, and earn a salary, all while working on technology that makes a genuine difference.

Our apprenticeships start in September 2026 and run for three or four years depending on which stream you join. This takes you up to a Level 3 or Level 4 qualification, equivalent to A-Levels or the first year of an undergraduate degree.

Is a Sepura apprenticeship right for you?

You don’t need to have your whole career planned out. We’re looking for curiosity, commitment, and a willingness to learn and we’ll support you as you build the rest.

Who is it for?

If you’re 16 or over and want a practical alternative to college or university, this could be the right place to start. See gov.uk for more eligibility criteria.

What qualification will you gain?

You’ll work towards a Level 3 (A-level equivalent) or Level 4 (first year of a degree) apprenticeship over three years, depending on the pathway you choose.

What skills will you learn?

You’ll learn technical or commercial skills linked to your role, as well as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and time management that you can build on as your career develops. Find out more.

Who is Sepura?

You’ll see Sepura radios in day‑to‑day life, worn by police officers and paramedics. Our technology is relied on every day in emergency situations around the world, where clear communication can make the difference between life and death. Learn more about us.

Why choose a Sepura apprenticeship?

You not only gain a qualification, skills, confidence, and experience that set you up for the future, but you will also secure a permanent job at the end of your three-year apprenticeship. Explore the three year scheme.

Where will you be based?

Sepura’s head office is based in Cambridge Research Park, Waterbeach, 20 minutes north of Cambridge, with engineering, technology, and commercial teams all working under one roof. Discover our workplace.

Choose between two apprenticeship streams

Your learning combines paid, hands-on experience at Sepura with structured teaching and support from specialist training providers. You’ll finish with a nationally recognised qualification and the experience to move into a long-term role.

Technical stream (Four years)

This route is for people who enjoy engineering, technology, and problem-solving.

You’ll rotate through different technical teams, which can include Quality, Test and Integration, Mechanical Verification, Electronics Technicians, Repairs and Customer Support.

You’ll learn how products are designed, tested, built, and supported, and how they’re used in the real world. Along the way, you’ll develop practical engineering skills and a strong understanding of how technology moves from idea to deployment.

This is a great fit if you’re interested in a technical or engineering career and want hands-on experience from the start.

Commercial stream (Three years)

This option is for those interested in how a business operates day to day.

You’ll rotate through teams such as: Purchasing and Orders, Finance and Bid, Customer Support, Marketing, Product Management.

You’ll learn how products are brought to market, how customers are supported, and how decisions are made across the business. You’ll build skills in communication, organisation, and commercial awareness.

This path suits anyone interested in business, operations, or customer-focused roles.

Support that helps you grow beyond the job

At Sepura you’ll get guidance that helps you build confidence, find your voice, and feel comfortable in a professional environment, even if everything feels new at first. Alongside your day-to-day work, you’ll:

  • Build confidence through presentation and communication skills
  • Have a mentor you can talk to and learn from
  • Work on group projects and get to know your fellow apprentices
  • Develop resilience through outward-bound activities and volunteering
  • Get support with time management, and balancing work and study

You’ll be part of a close-knit apprentice group, with people to lean on and help you throughout the programme. You won’t be left to figure things out on your own.
