Apprentices Achieve First Class Honours Degrees

23/09/2022

Congratulations to Sepura's Molly Peeters and Chloe Wesley, who have completed their degree apprenticeships with Anglia Ruskin University and graduated with First Class Honours.

Apprentices Achieve First Class Honours Degrees

Molly Peeters and Chloe Wesley both joined Sepura in 2016 to take part in the company’s apprenticeship scheme and have been working to complete their degrees while gaining valuable experience in key roles within the company.

Molly, who has recevied a BSc (Hons) in Digital and Technology Solutions, specialising in Cybersecurity, will start a new role within Sepura’s IT Team in October as IT Service Analyst. She will be responsible for coordinating service calls relating to IT Security, risk and vulnerabilities while developing our process and analysis capability.

She said: “Sepura has been very supportive and flexible with study days and supporting my work engaging with departments across the business. This has really helped develop my skills and put the training to good use within the organisation, and I am lucky to have had such supportive colleagues across the business.”

Molly, also a STEM Ambassador for Sepura, is looking forward to developing her skills further in the IT security field and plans are in place for additional certification to support this development.

Molly has been an outstanding student and she has equally performed diligently within the IT Team, gaining many skills from hardware support to information leakage reporting as part of her dissertation. She has taken opportunities to elevate her responsibilities throughout her six years, meaning she is now in a position to take on a new and important professional role within the business.

Chloe will also be starting a new role as Graduate Product Manager, having completed a Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship, receiving a BA (Hons) in Management. This is a new position within Sepura’s Product Strategy team, created to enable Chloe to further develop the considerable skills she has amassed during her studies and time at Sepura.

Chloe responsibilities will include defining requirements for new products, analysing and creating business cases, arranging field trials and supporting the existing accessories portfolio.

She said: “Sepura has given us wonderful opportunities to share business experiences and get insights into different practice areas within the organisation. This wider understanding of the business has really helped my product management skills and was crucial to my final work-based dissertation project.”

Chloe has shown outstanding potential and has made a significant contribution to both the department and the company. We are delighted to offer her a new role within the team, and we are proud of her progress and achievements over the last six years.

Reflecting on their achievements in both the workplace and academia, HR Director, Joe McHugh said: “It has been a privilege and a pleasure to follow Molly and Chloe’s progress at Sepura. We are proud to recognise their outstanding achievement in gaining First Class Honours in their respective degree apprenticeships and we are also delighted that they are both continuing their career journeys with Sepura. We wish them every success with their new roles. Degree apprenticeships are an amazing vehicle to gain invaluable business experience and skills at the same time as achieving high-level academic qualifications, and Molly and Chloe are superb role models for anyone considering a degree apprenticeship.
