The remote SIM reader is ideal for third-party smart-card-based E2EE solutions. Conveniently located, the solution allows the user to easily manage the crypto security of the vehicle radio by the presence of the SIM card. Removal of the SIM key fob typically renders the Sepura radio totally unusable. The mobile radio returns to the PIN entry screen and will not enter service until a valid SIM card is detected. 'Hot insertion detection' allows the SIM Fob to be inserted and removed with the radio already powered. The reader is powered directly from the radio transceiver unit and connects via any standard remote console cable.
